I am married to Allison Bellissimo who teaches at Jefferson County High School. We have three children, Bennett, William, and Mattie, and live in the Talbott community. We are members of Swannsylvania Baptist Church in Dandridge TN, where I teach youth on Wednesday and Sunday. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman University. I started teaching eighth-grade history at West View Middle School in Hamblen County. In 2012 I came to Jefferson Middle School as a seventh-grade social studies teacher. I went to the University of Tennessee and earned a Master’s degree in educational leadership. After five years in the classroom at JMS, I became the assistant principal for two years. During those two years, I was honored as a 2018 Governors Academy for School Leaders fellow. I was also a fellow at the Center for Educational Leadership at the University of Tennessee, through which I earned an Educational Specialist degree. I am now the teacher mentor/evaluator at three of the smaller elementary schools in our district. It is a joy working with the amazing administrators, educators, staff, and students at each of these three special places. In my free time I enjoy taking care of our four chickens, five head cattle herd and twenty-five goats.
